Islam to spirituality to body as space
The thought for this minimal, "seizing the volume it occupies" collection started out with what is not materialism. Then came in Islam and its sustainable, spiritual living.
This collection was pushed forward with endless discussions and debates on body, spirituality, space and sustainability with friends, fellow students and faculties. the research and time that went into this project helped me change a lot of my ways into sustainable living.
The initial space I created of my inspiration-
spirituality and sustainability of
Islam.
Space derived from the initial space as the inspiration for the collection. Here, the collection gets directed to singular, layered, balanced, sustainable, principled features.
All garment silhouettes are designed with different ways of draping and gathering to have absolutely no wastage. The collection explores the body as space trying to seize different volume in different forms with different movements.
This project was done as a part of the course Body as space in college.
